About Me

ABOUT MYSELF

Greetings to you all!

I am an International Medical Graduate (IMG), now living in Illinois a first year Internal Medicine Resident.

A little bit about my background.

I was born in Hong Kong and grew up Canada. After graduating from high school, we moved to California where I pursued a biological science degree. I have always known that science and human anatomy was my favorite so I had no difficulty choosing a major when I started college. I was fortunate enough to secure a position as a clinical care extender at a local community hospital during my second year, and there it was my first time to work along with the healthcare professionals and had first-hand patient care experiences. Right then, I was able to confirm my life-long passion of becoming a physician. After earning my B.S., I enrolled in a post-bac program in Berkeley to take advanced science courses. Not long after I completed my post-bac, I was accepted to medical school, and I was able to complete two years of basic science courses overseas and completed all my clinical rotations in Illinois.

Knowing that management of the health care can also be tricky in the future when I become a physician with my practice, I also completed a Masters of Health Administration (MHA) to help me develop management and leadership skills within the healthcare settings. As I did rotations in different communities, I also saw the importance of public health education and saw patterns of health disparities. So I began the MPH program to enable myself to understand medicine in a broader perspective with hopes to enhance public health with preventive promotions, education, and improve health outcomes.

Throughout my years in studying medicine, I encountered many obstacles and frustrations by not knowing what to do and where to go next. I learned from my journey that dedication and consistency would show results as long as you have dreams and never give up.

I hope this website will bring you some useful information. I will be updating this website periodically!

Wish myself and all of you best of luck!
