Who Is Taking Care of Me in the Hospital?
If your regular doctor isn’t the one you’re seeing, that’s normal and expected. Most primary care physicians no longer manage hospital admissions. Instead, you’ll be cared for by a hospitalist — a physician whose entire practice is based inside the hospital.
Your hospitalist will see you every day, review your test results, coordinate your specialists, manage your medications, and prepare you for a safe discharge. Think of us as your medical quarterback during your stay.
Your regular doctor will be fully informed of everything that happens and will take over your care again once you are discharged from the hospital.
